On Wednesday 8^th August 2007 EasyJet announced that it would be flying from London's Gatwick airport to Sofia, Bulgaria's capital from the 6th November this year.

With prices from as little as £51 return including all taxes this will aid property owners and the holiday tourism industry giving Bulgaria a significant boost.

 

Greater visitor numbers will increase rental yields and property prices over the coming year.

 

Ryanair, Myair and Eurowings have all applied for similar access to Bulgaria and new routes from these carriers are expected to be announced within the next six months

 

A month ago London-registered low-cost carrier Wizz Air, the first no-frills carrier to enter the Bulgarian market, announced the launch of new flights from Sofia to Dortmund. This is the airline's third route from Sofia. It also services flights from the Black Sea airports of Varna and Burgas.
Germanwings, Easyfly, Sky Europe, My Air, Air Italy and Norwegian Air are the other low-fare airline companies conducting flights from the three Bulgarian airports.
